SUMMARY:
This is a true
history and talks about Edmundo Chirinos. He is recognized Venezuelan
psychiatrist. He was suspect of killing Roxana Vargas, one of his patient. This
is an important of the Venezuelan’s modern history. The narrative starts
explaining the crime. Roxana, her patient, was a victim of rape more than one
time and she was finally murdered by her doctor. Pacheco, the writer, give us a lot of details about
the crime. Evidence by evidence you can fallow the murder. Throughout the
investigation, the police discovered other victims for rape and other crimes
committed by the doctor. The author gives us relevant details about Chiniro’s
life. One of them is that he was the psychiatrist of the late President of
Venezuela, Hugo Chavez Frias. However, the most valuable clue in this research
was definitely the journal of the victim and the telephone registration. Although
the political defense that Chavez’s government give him, the truth was known.
The author gives
way to a series of interviews conducted with colleagues, patients and key
people in the doctor's life. Even though it may be very late, this will be used
as evidence during the judgment day. The detective proved the guilt of the
doctor in this political environment. Nevertheless, it is not the all, Pacheco realized
interviewing him before the final sentence. Ultimately, the doctor was put on
trial, and was given a guilty verdict; then placed in jail
RECOMMENDATION:
This book is for
lovers of the study of human behavior. It is living proof that not everything
is what it seems. Roxana faced a demon with the courage of adolescent, and she reached
to demonstrate a truth that appeared impossible. Her death does discredits, and
puts the murderer in jail. Also, Roxana’s death helped to avoid any more
victims of rape by this sick doctor. In order to solve this case, it was not an
easy task; and it rarely shows the efficiency and compromise of police in my nation,
even though that moral and political conflicts. The truth was victorious in
this situation.
